Cranberry Sauce by Michelle Young

1 cup sugar
1 cup orange juice
1 pkg (12oz) fresh whole cranberries

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the orange juice. Stir in the cranberries, and cook until they start to pop (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat, and transfer to a bowl. Cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.

Great Grandma's Fruit Cocktail

12 Peaches
6 pears
1 lb. Seedless grapes
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 1/2 cup orange juice
13 oz. Marchiano cheries
1 20 oz can crushed pinapple
1 20 oz can pinapple tidbits

Pick the yummiest fruit for the best results

peel pears and peaches
chop fruit into bite size pieces
add to large bowl with juices
seal in large freezer bags

Each recipe makes about four freezer bags full (enough for one large dinner).

I add in bananas the day I serve it.

Green beans with Bacon:

Steam green beans as usual. Meanwhile, in frying pan cook chopped up bacon. Drain the grease out the bacon. Then fry up the green beans with the bacon, about 2 mintues.

Pumpkin Ice Cream

1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
1 c (or more) canned pumpkin
1- 1 1/2 t pumpkin pie spice
(or 1 t cinnomon, 1/2 t ground ginger, and 1/4 t nutmeg)
1/2 c brown sugar

Let ice cream soften, then blend all ingredients in mixer with wire whips. Eat then, or put in a graham cracker crust, or refreeze and serve with gingersnap or gingerbread cookies as ice cream sandwiches. (Costco sells Anna's Ginger Thins by the animal crackers.)
